| The Celts brought an oral tradition
to Ireland compared to the written traditions of the Greeks, Romans and
others. This means that stories were passed through different generations
and through different tribes, only to create many stories from a single
story.
Before the Celts, Ireland was populated
by Megalithic, Neolithic and Mesolithic tribes who's approaches to life
appeared to be practical, logical, mathematical, enduring and focused on
survival. The Celts appeared to have brought art, craftmanship and spirituality
that must have unsettled the well engraved survival habits of the long
standing tribes of Ireland.
Even today, artists and spirituality
teachers still rock and transform the seemingly stable structures of our
scientists. Some archeologists, historians and even forensic scientists
have "determined" or seek to "prove" the "accuracy" of the legends only
to have their "science" completely destroyed by another find.
When I "tour" Ancient Ireland I do not
seek to educate or really provide information because none of it could
possibly stick as its all based on oral tradition, "hearsay". Instead I
try to share the same oral tradition through sharing stories as I hear
them or simply invite visitors to absorb what they choose in silence and
in wonder.
Coming here soon will be an ever expanding
collection of those stories ......... |
